Messenger bag

This is the new messenger bag which I made for my shop.
I have my own messenger bag, but it doesn't have flap. I think it is better to have flap for safe.

The fabric is Japanese fabric that I ordered to the one of the Japanese fabric store.
Both strawberry and yellow polka dots are from beautiful Yuwa's fabric.
The material is cotton and linen blended, so it is similar to the home decor weight.
It is strong and good for making the bag.

I have attached the vintage ribbon on the bag for the accent. This one is really cute!

There is one pocket inside.  It is large enough to fit some magazines. It would be great for the school bag and library bag.

Now I am working on the shoulder bag for the children.

Like this one.
My son is enjoying to carry this bag. :)

One bag is finished, but I have to wait to buy the supplies to make the bag size adjustable.
If you are interested in, please come back to see what I make!

Thank you for visiting.

place mats

I posted this photo earlier . I still have a big(long) piece left to make a quilt.
However I finished up to make two place mats using the short pieces.

set of two quilted place mats

I pieced colorful patchwork with the Kona cotton fabric.

I really love how it turned out!

For the other side, I picked strawberry fabric. This is so cute.
For the binding, this red polka dots is from Riley Blake. I forgot the name of the series.
It is very similar of the Honey Comb from Kei (Japan) which is one of my favorite polka dots.

Instead to use the regular white thread to quilt, I use this multi color thread.

It added unique look for the place mats.

cute? :)

These are available in my etsy shop!

One more thing,

Set of 4 quilted coaster. Liberty fabric.

This set of 4 coasters made from Liberty and Linen fabric. It turned out very beautiful. Great for everyday use.
This one is also available in my shop. :)

wall art

Hello! How was your weekend?
We took my son to the Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose.
It took 3 hours to drive to get there, however my son enjoyed a lot.
I am very happy to see his face filled with big smile. :)

Anyway, I'd like to share my idea how I decorate the wall for our guest room.

guest room
The color  of the guest room is silver, grey, blue, white, and beige.
The wall color is blue grey, the bed is sliver and linen is the white so far.

These are the wall art.  I have been looking for the wall art for the guest room, however I couldn't find anything I like...
So I decided to make something by myself.
I used the old white picture frame.
I  put the tenugui fabric inside. (this is the japanese fabric)
How pretty they are!

There are a lot of pretty and modern tenugui fabric out there recently.

These are also tenugui fabric. T he dice one is the present for my son from my sister. I didn't use it yet.
I should frame these to decorate my my son's room.

The butterfly and the cat. I am a cat person. This is my favorite.

Here is another diy project. I painted old chair and change the fabric of the seat.
I like this chair, too.

before

This is how it look before.

I still have a lot of stuff to finish for my house. It takes time, but it is fun!

Do you remember this pot holder?
This is the one I made for me.

I use this one everytime when I cook or bake. It is very useful.
Insul Brite which I used as the batting, it works very well as the heat proof.

So I decided to make these for my shop.
I made three pot holders from cute Japanese fabric.

scrap buster

I have a lot of scraps. These tiny piece comes from ....

here!

When I make a small cosmetic pouch, there is a part to discard. But I kept them all.
I realized how much I have now. A lot!

So I just started to sew them together without planing. I added little big piece to sew together.

1 3/4" wide pieces.

I didn't plane it, however it came out interesting.
Probably I sew them together with white or ivory solid fabric and quit it.
I will be nice play mat for baby or big table mat, picnic mat.

will see...
