Two pants

I sewed up two pants for my son.
He wears them at home. It is relax pants.

The blue one is stripe fabric and yellow one is Japanese famous hero on it.

He is Anpanman. (He is the bread filled with red beans)
I have a lot of this yellow fabric. He already had two pants made from this fabric in the past and still wear them. Very comfortable.

Waist is the elastic band and I made it loose. Probably he can wear them next year again!

for me

zakka style pot holder

I made a pot holder for my friend earlier, and I love it. So I decided to make one for myself.
Made from cute Japanese fabric, (both of the fabric are linen blended)

the other side.

Cute ribbon with house print which I purchased a etsy store.

Here is another one which I made recently.

Tote bag. First of all, I did not plant to make a tote bag. I wanted to make the basket...
However, I miscalculated when I cut the fabric and for that reason, it came out tote bag.

But I like how it turned out. Very simple color and pattern. I love this natural look.

liner. It is reversible.

I put a lot of vinyl bag. I need these bag to clean up my cat's litter.:)

perfect!

arrived!

The parcel from Japan has arrived on Saturday.
I ordered them on Monday and received on Saturday! Wow! super fast shipping.

These are Yuwa's beautiful linen blended fabric. soooo cute!

These two polka dots are also from Yuwa.

Another cute fabric!  This is my second time to order this one. Love it!

This one is super! I just purchased only 50cm!! I should order more!!
It would be super cute if I make the girl's dress or skirt. Probably I will sew some cloth with this fabric.

This one is light canvas fabric. I want to make some tote bag for the children. :)

The edge is also cute! I will use it.

The good news is I received  all fabric with free shipping!!
Last Monday, the biggest shopping site in Japan called "rakuten" offered free shipping to USA.
(this campaign has already finished.)
Yes! Yes! I am very glad with my purchase.

Thank you for visiting!

Gauzeket

Gauzeket = Gauze + Blanket :)
Gauzeket is very popular in Japan. I saw a lot of Japanese blogger made the gauzeket for their children.

Last year, I purchased this double gauze fabric (2meter) in Japan.
Finally I finished up my project. :)

This fabric is double side, so I cut the fabric half (1meter each) and sew together.
Double gauze is not easy to sew, but it is very soft. This is great fabric to make something for baby and children. Your baby will love it!
I highly recomend to use same double gauze fabric for front and back side, because of the tention.

My son and I chose the fabric for the tag.

Thank you for visiting, I hope everyone have great weekend.

Just put the food in the bag and tie!

It is ready to go!

Wedding Gifts

This is the wedding gift for my friend who live in Japan.
We have known each other since 12 years old and now we are middle of 30's.

We are keeping in touch, and when I visit my family, I always meet her, too.
I am very glad that she found the one finally.
According from her, her husband comes to US sometimes because of his job.
I hope she will visit me someday with her husband.

Anyways, the gift I prepared for her is....

Dishcloths, oven mitt and small spatulas from Williams Sonoma.
I use dish cloths and small spatulas, it is very useful and nice quality.
Especially, small spatulas, you should have one of these!
She likes cooking and baking, I hope she will love them.

These are which I made for her. She likes simple pattern. So I just picked this fabric.
Set of 4 coasters and pot holder.

Back fabric is also simple check pattern.

Congratulation!

teacher appreciate gift

Today is the final day of his Japanese pre-school.
He will continue to go to the school next semester.

The time passes so fast! It is already summer holiday. I can not believe it.

As our thanks, I and my son made a little gift for the teachers.
He made the card.

He stamped "thank you" and drew the teacher's face.

I baked the Madeleine and made the bookmark which is nicely covered with the liberty print fabric.

This is the other side of the card. We made the flag with masking tape and I wrote thank you to the teacher.

I wrapped just like this and gave it to the teachers.
I hope they love it. :)

invisible zipper

On the memorial's day (monday), my husband took my son to fishing trip. So I enjoyed my time to relax.
I made two pillow cover for the living room sofa.

The fabric is from Lecien in Japan.  I purchased this fabric at local quilter's shop.
When I saw this pattern in the first time, I rellay loved it!
This is Home decor weight fabric which is perfect for the home decoration.

This time, I tried "invisible zipper", my first time to try.
I found  the tutorial from Here. It is very clean and easy to follow.

I only have regular zipper foot.  However, it doesn't look so bag. This is my first try, so It is ok.
I used pre-quilted fabric for the back. This is left over fabric in the closet.

The finished size is 20"x20".  Pillow insert is from costco. 2 for about $16? I guess.

Thank you for visiting!
